Lone wolf beside the Soul of Nature
where you sleep
I hear the price you pay
For mankind's misgivings
In your aching weep
I feel your solitude
Crystallize
Beyond any agony
I could ever know
As your tortured
trust licks the
bloody remains
of your mate dead from a bullet
in the crimson Snow.
Your lament halts even
the Eagle; he stops to stare
At your prisms of grief
float in melancholy circles
Piercing the frozen air.
Wolves are Star Keepers
but you must love
them enough to hear the wisdom in their call - -
Fragile as Stardust,
And like a shooting star
you wait to glimpse their awesome shadow,
but then you blink,
Never to watch them
Fall.
[ss - to the one wolf I loved more than life itself;
to all the wolves I don't know
but Love Just as Much.]
