i follow you in a Lake of Tears hoping along the way that I can replace your frown with my fragile smile and erase all your demons causing such fears Would you turn around? Will you stay awhile? What of this moment possessed of such hidden and poignant sorrow? so unlike a song whose words are left to forgotten hums in that distance of stillness that breaks even the curtain of sound that knows no safe tomorrow Running so deep your weeping like an arrow of blood bleeds the pain as though from some other existence does your grief overlap to saturate this Life again and again I listen to your echoes as they stream down the walls of Eternity forever to cry forever to feel wounded in starved embrace forever to wonder what it was all meant to be a shadow hidden without a face those smiles in Heaven still dip their sympathy in lofty tears left from long ago this lake that knew them once . . . those tears left frozen in time like forgotten Snow this lake that drowned in its own Lake of Tears at last having drank the sadness from all the Ages past . . . /susan
