Splintered Sunlight

i walked in
     the shadows
of splintered sunlight

     a broken facet of myself
     glittering like shattered prisms
reflecting only spectrums of sorrow

my tears
     mirrored like etched crystal
caught suspended in frozen melancholy

my mother's passing
took something from me
     and left behind merely
imprints of unspoken Love
     and hushed words of Wisdom

the aching too unbearable
the longing i feel to still be held
     in her forgotten embrace

is imbedded like shards of broken glass
stabbing through each breath

     bleeding all sense of reality

so i am left alive without her fragile comfort
and my memory searches through the fog of splintered sunlight

to grasp another chance to make her rare clingings of me
     Remembered
